A Bugs Life in Mt. Pico de Loro

A supposed trip to Sagada (again) but in the last minute, we decided to scale some of South Luzon Peaks. This was a free round trip airfare by our officemate / fellow outdoorsman, Rody. And that time he was not feeling well. It was on July of 2013 and our first peak of three was Mt. Pico de loro of Ternate, Cavite.

Are you the parrots beak?

We arrived in Manila to battle the human traffic for several hours until we get to ride a jeepney for SM Mall of Asia and leave our backpacks, eat breakfast and chill out for a while. Then, off to Lawton to catch a bus for Cavite. Emay's cousin will be meeting us there.

After the not-so-long bus ride via CAVITEX, we finally arrived to an unfamiliar place called Naic, Cavite and met Emay's cousin and had our lunch. Bought food, and denatured alcohol. We couldn't find any butane there but Robert, Emay's cousin has brought 2. New we go!

We manage to get a tricycle (tuk-tuk / motorcycle with a sidecar... lol) and managed to fit six people inside. All I can remember is that it takes more than 2 hours of Tricycle ride to get there. Yep far and yep, we should have took a bus. lol

But hey, we arrived there.

Since Robert was familiar with the trail, we did not get any guides. We got there for the sunset, setup camp and cook our dinner.

The next day, it rained so hard after we had our breakfast. Oh well, better stay inside the tent and sleep. Once the rain stopped, time to scale the parrots beak!
